Just Stuff

We had some darling pictures of Russell taken a few weeks ago. I scanned this one to share because it is my favorite. Sorry the quality isn't better.

Brenna and I had some girl time yesterday and went and got our hair cut. She got a cute A-line cut that is low maintenance. She was pretty excited when the hairdresser sprayed some sparkles in her hair.
Yesterday I was giving Russell a bath and opened the drawer to get a wash cloth only to find this:

I guess Grant decided the diapers should go in there instead of the garbage can.

Last week Brenna had a friend over. When we all came in the door, I saw some tiny shoes and thought, "Whose little baby's shoes are those?" Then I realized that no little girls had been over in a while, and that those shoes must belong to Brenna's friend. Wow. I had to take a picture. I mean, they are so small. In fact, I even had to check the size. Yep, smaller than Grant's. He is 2.5 years old. Brenna's friend is actually almost a year older than her. She turned six in the fall, and Brenna won't be six until August. Now, you say, Brenna is a tall girl, she should have bigger feet. This is true. But Grant is not taller than a six year old, and his feet are bigger than this girl's. So here is my conclusion: Brenna's friend has abnormally small feet, and Brenna has feet right for her size. In fact, it reminds me of what my brother-in-law says about my sister (who is also in the large feet size club). He says if her feet were any smaller, she would fall over. I can distinctly remember being selfconscious about my own large feet when I was about 12. I remember telling my mom that my feet would be the perfect size if I could just cut off my toes. (I have very long toes). So, anyway, let me end this rambling. I am glad Brenna is not conscious of her feet, and hopefully she will always be proud of being tall, because she is a beautiful girl, and I love her. (And when her feet finally reach my size, we can share shoes.)

Grant's shoes are on the left, Brenna's on the right.

Russell is such a cutie. He has a little half curl that always sticks up so I had to get a picture.

Finally a good smiling shot!

In Remembrance of Joy

It has been one year since our niece passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

For New Year's we went to Idaho Falls. It was fun to visit Rob's parents and almost all of his siblings who were also visiting. Of course, I didn't remember to take pictures. I got one of the kids in the car on the way, and one of Brenna asleep in Grandpa's arms after a big day.

In this picture I tried to capture Brenna's black eye. Grant threw a toy and hit her just below her right eye. Needless to say, we are working on not throwing.

The next few pictures show my feeble attempts at getting a picture of Russ smiling. He was not in the most smiley mood at the time, however, so I was not successful. I think he is still pretty darn cute, though.
