The Birthday Boy!!

Russell turned two years old on Saturday. I think he had a fun day.

We had a fairly busy day with Brenna's basketball game, Seth's piano competition, and other things. So we snuck in the birthday celebration at dinner time.

He received a new outfit and Thomas train, some bath toys, pajamas, some money and a fire engine. The older kids had just as much fun with his presents as he did!

I was inspired to step up my birthday cakes after seeing Melanie's (Rob's cousin) amazing cakes on her cooking blog (http://www.melskitchencafe.com/) so I attempted this train cake since Russell loves trains. Aside from the fact that the engine looks like a boat, I think it turned out okay.

He was very adorable when it came time to blow out the candles. (And yes, I forgot to buy candles, AGAIN, so we had to improvise.) He just blew very softly.

We sure are glad he is part of our family.

We had a fun Halloween weekend. My mom came into town on Thursday so she was able to be there for all of the fun.

Friday night our ward had a Trunk-or-Treat. Here are our kids with some friends. Seth was an army guy, Brenna a princess, Grant batman and Russ a turtle.

When the candy gathering was over the kids plopped down in the car and started feasting.

Saturday afternoon I had a piano recital for my students. They all wore their costumes and played Halloween songs.
That night after carving pumpkins we went trick-or-treating to some friends in our ward. Brenna had decided to be a witch that night. Russell didn't get to go this time.

We had a great time with my mom. She is like super woman- so helpful! She helped me clean my house for the recital and did Brenna's hair Sunday morning when I totally spaced it! Apparently we were so busy I didn't get a picture of her. Thanks for coming mom!

Number 5 is on the way!

Hey everyone!
We would like to announce that we are expecting our fifth baby on May 22! Hooray! We are very excited! What makes this pregnancy even more fun is that both of my married sisters are pregnant as well. Sarah is due in March, Wendy in April, and myself in May. My mom will have a busy spring!
