Gold Cup Festival Spring 2017

Every Spring I enter the kids in the Gold Cup Festival. It is fun here because not only can they enter the piano events, but the vocal events as well. Grant always nails it!

House progress April-May 2017

Our house kept moving right along. One night after dinner at grandma's we walked over to check it out. Elise was cold but dad took care of her :)

Spring 2017

While doing some yard work Rob came across this baby bunny. (Our backyard was home to several bunnies)

The kids loved it, of course!

Spring Break 2017: The Beach

We watched the sunset on the

If I remember right, we had one or two beautiful weather days at the beach.

Spring Break 2017: Sunset at the Beach

We watched the sunset on the beach-so fun! But, actually, we were all freezing in this picture! The wind was biting enough to make it quite cold. Nevertheless, it was gorgeous and the kids seemed immune-rushing around gathering up seashells, or throwing sticks in the waves.

Spring Break 2017

On the long car ride to Florida for Spring Break! I am very behind on blogging, but determined to catch up (again)

Wouldn't you know it, but when we were 10 minutes from Wendy's house, there was a freak tornado warning right over the freeway where we were traveling. This was about 8:30 pm and we left at 5am. ☹️

We found some shelter and waited out the danger for about 30 minutes before we finally finished our journey. But, thankfully, we were all safe.

Spring Break 2017

The kids and I (sans Seth) made impromptu plans for Spring Break this year. The instigator for the sudden travel plans was this weather forecast right here:

Grant's solo

Oh I love this video so much.  I had to break it down into three pieces because it was too long, and even then I guess the second piece was still too long, so here are two of the three.

My goodness Grant has the most beautiful voice.  He is such a sweet boy, too- this song is sorrowful and he mentioned to me a few times that it was hard to sing such a sad song.

I love this boy so much!

Grant's play

In March we had the special treat of watching Grant perform in his fifth grade "musical". The music teacher put together a play with some fifth graders acting as characters, and the rest on risers singing the group songs.

The play was a story of European immigrants to America in the 1800's. Grant had the role of the father of the featured family. He sang the only solo of the night and amazed us all with his beautiful voice.

Haircut!

Brenna grew her hair out so she could donate it-wow, it was so long!

Brenna's play

Brenna participated in the junior high play this year. The production was Once Upon A Wolf, a story about the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood who doesn't want to be a bad guy anymore, and he goes from fairy tale fairy tale trying to find a better role. Brenna was both the stepsisters from Cinderella. She had a puppet for each and used different voices. She enjoyed being a part of it.

Valentine's Day 2017

One of my friends shared this cute activity and we did it as a family for FHE. We had teams and Rob put came up with some additional games (shooting q-tips out of a straw at a paper-plate target, for example)
